Jersey Shore retailers are predicting a good shopping season during the 2010 holidays, and the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce wants to make sure a big chunk of that spending stays Jersey Shore local.
With a larger and larger portions of holiday spending taking place on line and at out of area malls, the Southern Ocean Chamber is spreading the 'shop local' message.
Local is a good thing... a great way to work with the local economy and the people who make our communities a great place to live....thanks Laura !
Morning Laura, We too always try to support our local businesses...Its a good time of year to remind us all to support the local economy..thanks.
I believe many retailers are hoping for a great Christmas. Christmas sales either make you or break you for that year. Best of luck to all the local retailers out there.
Sally & David - setting aside at least some money to spend local is a great idea!
Rene - We might be spending less this year, but let's spend a little at home! Thanks Rene
Harry - I have to agree, it's make or break time for some retailers.
I am big on shopping local. I am a local businessman and I like when local people call me so why shouldn't I do the same thing. Yes, sometimes it may be a bit more expensive, but the time and gas i save outweighs the small extra cost!
It looks like arts and crafts are going to do very well this year. Our various festivals here are reporting more vendors than ever, and brisk sales, too.
