Tip #5

Don't be afraid to ask the inspector how the heating system works.  Most likely the inspector will be eager to share his/her knowledge of the heating system.  Also, let the inspector show you where the air filter is (in a forced-air system), as you will need to periodically change or clean the filter.

Great tip, Rich.  I never changed the air filter in my first home for more than a year... asking the home inspector where it was would have helped me tremendously...
