Wow....that's an amazing picture. I am always shocked as to what you can catch on film.
Kevin,
That's a picture that tells a story... But I would like the story.
Steve
Kevin,
I just love this picture, where and how are my next questions, all the colors are gorgeous at is the setting, please tell all. A
Karen, Steve & Alexandra,
This is a relatively old picture I've had in my files for some time now. I was not the photographer, although I am an avid fan of APBA racing. Had it been a movie you wouldn't want to see the next frames, it won't be pretty. The best way to describe what happened is the balance between the boating aspect and flying can be easily disrupted. They're designed to take advantage of the building air pressure beneath the boat to provide lift therefore lightening the load and hence increase speed. These drivers are masters at controlling both usually, a millisecond of lost attention and here you are.
Kevin,
Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it. These drivers are definitely focus masters, and I can understand your appreciation of this type of racing. The laws of physics could be taught by this picture alone. Thanks again, and have a great day.

Tagrid, that's easy! They won, he was way past any point of contact by the time that "up in the air" boat hit the water again.
Alexandra, the most speed for the money is in those tunnel hull designs. They're very tricky to drive without some major training first. There's a lot going on to keep them right side up!
As far as I'm concerned, "You Do Walk on Water" Renee! No crashing for the Shack Diva!
Hi Kevin, what a great shot it is...To catch a moment like that is priceless...
Thank you!
I do hope the driver came out unscathed. Or did he? Like your new footer where did you get it?
Joshua, that is one difference between film and digital. You can still get a surprise on film every now and then.
Dee, I don't know the outcome there, unscathed would be a miracle. No lasting injuries we shall pray for? As far as the signature I believe it's photobucket but it could be another site.
Hi Kevin, Wow, this is an incredible picture - the timing is phenomenal. I hate to think of how it all played out in tthe end.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sandy, it's shots like this that make me consider buying a digital with "burst" capability to capture a string of photos at once. Thanksgiving is still going strong with relatives lingering about. It's been very good, thank you!
