It's sort of poetic, and very encouraging.
Yes, I understand that we are losing one in Michigan too. That is what we get from having Jennifer Granholm (a Liberal Democrat) for Governor for the last 8 years. Unions loved her. We have all kinds of social programs here, designed to keep you not working.
I am glad Michiganders woke up and flipped the entire State Senate, House and Governor seat to Republican for the first time in this last election.
The motto in Michigan in recent years has been 'The last one to leave, turn off the lights'. Being in the State that ranks #50 at the bottom economically, we are a prime example of liberal socialism at work.
Thanks to our Founding fathers for the shift.
I hope it is NOT too late for Michigan. My grandfather was chief of police of Lansing 90+ years ago and my sister has his "billy" club over her fireplace.
Wallace,
So true, high taxes will drive folks off! When one has a variety of choices, they will not run to the area of highest taxes and high cost of living.
Besides great weather and transportation, Atlanta has seen solid growth as they are willing to work with new companies and tax incentives. As well, the tax rate is in the reasonable range here. It could be lower, but it's like a huge raise if you come from NY or NJ!
All the best, Michelle
GA ROCKS * too bad they lost their 2nd NASCAR Cup race for 2011
Congratulations this post is now featured in the Silent Majority Group of Active Rain.
That's been going on for a long time Wallace. Especially the NE. But, as you know, they are coming to states like VA and turning our voting population into one we don't appreciate.
Jay * VA is the LAST right-to-work state before DC/MD which is why there are so many "distribution" warehouses in our area.....VA is 3rd BEST state for landlords!
That's democracy in action. If you don't have the numbers, you don't have the votes either.
This SHIFT is very telling * going SOUTH to lower tax/right to work states!!!
Georgia has always been a great State econimically. I regret having ever moved from there.
Georgia is a BEAUTIFUL state and is very vibrant economically - I wonder if it is because it has a NASCAR track?
