Over the weekend, I checked out some neighborhoods across the Potomac River in Fort Washington, Maryland.  And we stopped by the local marina to check out the birds and the boats.  These fellows looked like they might be taking advantage of a little rest stop.  I had to wonder if they were going further south, or if this was where they plan to hang out for the winter.

Even if those guys are planning on settling right there for the winter, they've picked a great location.

Give it a few weeks and it will look a lot more bleak. For now it is great to enjoy this lovely weather.

Pat--What cute little guys.  Posing and waiting for you to throw them some bread!  Another great photo worth framing!

Hi Pat, That is a marvelous photo. You are getting quite acomplished. And yes, I expect that they are heading to Fla for the winter, sorry, it is too cold there and their little feet freeze, :-)

They stick around all winter.  As do the boats!  And perhaps the people who come with those boats...    ;)

Pat.. my money would be on the fact that they are having a few cocktails and then heading south.  How is the house hunting going? considering that you are looking for a place by the water?  with a dock?

Pat -

I have clients who've been trying to sell their home just over the woods from the marina!  If you know anyone who likes that area PLEASE let me know!

Thanks for the pic.  Many DC area residents don't even know that exists.

Dave

Pat:  That looks so peaceful and relaxing.  How I would just love to be sitting on one of those boats... enjoy life as it floated by.  <smile>
