I Met Allan Dalton Today! After years of knowing Allan Dalton as the head of Realtor.com and a speaker around the country, today I finally got to meet him in person at a Calcagni Associates Regional Office function at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford. Allan and RisMedia put on the presentation to all the Calcagni Associates offices, and what he had to say was quite enlightening and thought-provoking. I will be reading his book, Leveraging Your Links over the next few days, and I look forward to putting his ideas to practice in my business.

Aside from the fabulous speakers, another important take-away from this gathering was new hang signs that will be showing up on most of the Calcagni listings that will direct buyers and the curious neighbors to text us for more information about a house as they sit in front of the listing. They will then be sent contact information and a link to complete information about the listing on our website. I am greatly looking forward to getting these signs up to help consumers find all the information they would like on my listings.

As always, Calcagni is looking to Connect the World to Connecticut!

That's cool to actually meet. And I must say the "text for more information" signs are an easy and instant way for Buyers to get quick answers when they see a home of interest.

Hi Michael - It does seem like a great way to get information to people instantly, and if they have an internet connection on their cell phone, they get the opportunity to use a really cool search system as well. I used it a bit this evening on my own listings, and even I was impressed. : )

Hi Myrl - As many people outside the real estate world don't know who Allan Dalton is, it may seem rather strange to them that people would enjoy meeting a writer of "how to" books, but with his association with RISMedia, maybe others will get to know who he is. He is a wonderful speaker--I wish he would have continued speaking to us for a few more days! He has that much to teach.

Chris - you will love it! we use the text for more info sign rider on our listings and it can directly connect the buyer to our sell phone if they wish to speak to us and some do - we just wrote the 1st purchase agreement a few weeks ago from this very thing!

cool that you met Alan Dalton also!

I do cringe at the past decision -> NAR gave up ownership of REALTOR.com

RPR is much more exciting and it should remain in our ownership for eternity IMHO!

Hi Grace - Yes, I was testing out the texting last night, and it was quite cool. Especially where you could click to call the agent directly and if you have internet on your phone, you get a really cool locator for finding other area listings if the one that you are sitting in front of does not meet your needs. I am going to try to do a post on how it works in the next few days. Good to hear from someone who has been using the system!!

Hi Chris, I have met Allan on a number of different occasions over the years. He has passion and loves ( eats and breathes) what he does. I haven't read his new book but I will order it. Allan is tops!
