New Babies, Worshipping a Rat, and 800 emails have what in common?Ft. Lauderdale

Me,  Yes, I've been off line, non-blogging since my vacation, sue me, I indulged in a little "Dad" time.

First, thank you to everyone in the State of Florida, especially the Realtors and Realtor Association staff who were so helpful to all the GADs (Government Affairs Director) in general and to my little family in particular.  Ft. Lauderdale was beautiful, the conference was intellectually profitable, and having a couple evenings to dig my toes in the sand and trade war stories with other lobbyists was heaven.

For my children, a week of Disney "Magic," which was available for purchase in increments of $20 and $50, was an experience of a lifetime.  My kids are little (1, 5, and 7) and for them, this was like visiting heaven. The two older children discovered roller coasters. They also discovered that Dad is a complete scaredy cat, Mom went on the rides with them.

Adoption Photo at O'Hare AirportI am happy to announce the formal adoption of my third child. While he has a penchant for vomiting on my suits, he is a happy and joyous little soul. I will be blogging about the adoption process soon, I just need a little distance to put things into perspective.

As school starts for the kids, the start of the Committee year begins for those of us in the Association business. New Chairmen(women), sharpened #2 Ticonderoga's, new personalities, and new opportunities await. For me, I say good bye to Annette Akey, a two-term chairwoman and outstanding political operative. Thank you Annette for every single phone call, every single email, every single boring meeting, and most of all, thank you for your perspective, intelligence and experience in guiding our little band of political merry men and women.

Mary Anne D'Ambrosio, my incoming Chairwoman brings her own unique experiences and talents to lead our group. Believe me when I say I look forward to learning new things from you.

Excuse me, "boring meetings"?  LOL  Never, ever boring.

You know nothing can be done on our committee without your hard work.  You truely ROCK and are the best GAD!

PS  You will never be rid of me...poor soul.
