There hasn't been a new school district established in Utah in almost 100 years, but little more than a year ago, in July 2009, the cities of Cottonwood Heights, Sandy, Draper, Midvale and Alta broke away from the Jordan School District to create the new Canyons School District. Their website is fully functional and comprehensive, and even includes information and resources for parents who choose to home school their children.
