Time to Sound Professional!

Starting your real estate career?  It’s time to look at your image.  Over the next few blogs I’ll address several areas.  Today we’ll start with your cell phone.cell phone

What do people hear when a person listens to your cell phone greeting?  Just your phone number?  Your child’s voice? A selection of music?  Your greeting needs to say who you are and preferably what company you are with and an assurance that you will return the call as soon as possible (and then do so!).

Stand up while recording your greeting.  It will make a difference in how you sound.  Try to smile also!

Even more basic than a proper greeting on your voicemail:  Is your cell phone area code in the same region as you’ll be working?  I assure you that your Broker will hesitate to send you leads in Virginia if you are still carrying your Pennsylvania area code cell number.  Consider this your first step to going “hyperlocal.”  Don’t know why hyperlocal is important to you?  Join ActiveRain and start learning!

Stay tuned for more advice on polishing your image for your professional real estate career!
