What's your Bucket List of Content (aka Sejal's tips on living a fun, happy life)

We all have a bucket list of things we want to do in life (whether we have taken time to write it down or it’s still in our head.)  Recently, I felt this urge to write down my bucket list of content – basically the lessons I’ve learned about life through all its ups and downs.  I would love to read others’ bucket lists of content.  Please share here! (Remember, this list was written by a stager, thus the numerous tips on de-cluttering and paring down your stuff.)

Sejal’s tips on living a happy, fun life:

1. Roll with the punches.  This motto has gotten me through some tough times.
2. Give away lots of your things.  It feels great and surprisingly, you don’t need a lot of it.
3. Give decisions and issues some time.  Amazingly, things often work themselves out.
4. Spend time alone, reading and thinking.
5. Ask yourself everyday if you could do anything, what would you do.  It’s a great morning exercise.
6. Don’t worry about having courage to do what you want, you will have the courage when the time is right.
7. Do not start collecting things.  Keep your belongings fresh and current, be able to let things go.
8. Don’t keep things purely for sentiment.  If someone else could be using or wearing your loved one’s items, let them go.
9. Don’t let others sentimentality weigh you down.  Offer them items they want to keep.
10. Keep the lessons your loved ones taught you, not the things they owned or bought.  Even better, write down your greatest memories.
11. Do not have duplicate items for 1 function out.  Keep 1 body soap in the shower, own 1 pair of strappy black heels, pare down to 1 item of each.  Store backup supplies for when the existing one runs out.  You will see how this will simply your life.  Less decision time every day.
12. Forgive yourself.  Others may not know but you will know.
13. Forgive others.  Others may not know but you will know.
14. If your home has a spare bedroom, your siblings will come to live with you. (I love you N & S).
15. Rescuing and adopting a pet, as my sister did, will change your life.
16. When you fail or falter, give yourself time.  You may later realize you didn’t fail at all.
17. You have reached a deep understanding and confidence in what you do when you are truly friends with your competitors.  This has been one of my most surprising and fun lessons.
18. Send written thank you cards often.  I am still working on this one.
19. Minimize watching television.  Use it as a reward.
20. Change your diet.  You know what you need to do, it’s a lot easier than we think.
21. If there’s something you’re reluctant to do – exercise, cutting out soda, etc, tell yourself it’s an experiment.  Its a lot more fun.
22. Chase your dreams.  Another crucial motto of mine.  That’s what we’re all here for.
