Apparently I was incorrect in my earlier Blog (which I have since deleted) when I listed a form for the Williams Sonoma Trade Discount.  I upset a few members of AR & the organization that I had received the heads up from.  Apparently they worked long and hard to be recongnized by this organization and I was guilty of "plagiarizing copyrighted material and intellectual property"  For this I aplogize.

As I want to make sure this issue is cleared up, I went directly to http://www.williams-sonoma.com/ and clicked through about 2 links and found this.... http://www.williams-sonomainc.com/dtp/become_member.cfm  I encourage you to visit.  Accessing this site you will be able to view the terms and conditions of this trade discount.  Please note that there is long disclaimer which advises that "membership is contigent upon approval of appropriate credentials and completed application.  Non-designer related business or professions may not qualify for the program." (note: this is word for word from the above mentioned site)  Here is the link for the correct application

I should not have included the link in the previous post.  Since it clearly upset another organization and at least 2 higher ups in the company, I apologize for my error.  I had not considered a discount program with this particular organization (in part because I rarely shop there).  I would not have considered it had it not been for their membership email.  In this regard it is one of the reasons why some may consider organizations with the ability to negotiate for larger groups.  I personally did not feel there would be an issue since the application itself appears to invite anyone in the design related trade to join.  Apparently I was incorrect.

This blog should clear up my errors & give appropriate information to AR members regarding this trade discount.  Please note, again, I am not 100% sure if this is available to everyone in the staging profession.  I only state that by the application itself and the link listed above, it does appear this is the case.

Melissa, I think when you posted the orginal blog, as well as this one- your intent was to STAGE IT FORWARD!  By sharing this with stagers, you are helping our industry as a whole!  I hope that the people that you upset will see this and realize that UNITED we STAND, Divided WE FALL!

STAGE it FORWARD!!

I must've missed that blog as well and I have no clue what was the big woo-ha. But I am glad that you had fixed the situation and hopefully the offended will understand.

Cheers,

Cindy

Thanks for the link to the application! I'm very lazy today and didn't feel like looking for it.

I have my resale licence for my design clients, so I qualify for the discount, yippee! I wonder if Crate & Barrel have a design discount....

Your intentions were good...unfortunately for some that is just not good business. :(

Stage it forward Mellisa!
