Some where around post number 980 I realized I was going to reach the 1,000 post milestone. I obviously enjoy blogging and being here on ActiveRain. So I thought, What am I going to do post number 1,000 about?
I read all posts that are titled 1,000 because they are special. So, I thought I would blog about my experience here at ActiveRain. But I have done that. Others have done that too. Some have done that really ,really, well. I passed on that idea.
Then I thought I would blog about what it means to be a Realtor, and why I am a Realtor. But I have done that too. I think pretty well. Others have done that too. I do find their posts to be great reads so I passed on that as well.
I really was starting to worry about this post number 1,000 and was wracking my brains for a topic to write on that would have meaning and impact and be unique. Then came the Twist.
I logged in today sweating the writing of post number 1,000 and to my initial horror saw that I actually posted number 1,000 yesterday ! ARRGGGHHH!!!!!!! I went back and looked at it and realized that post number 1,000 was pretty much right on the money.
I posted about Big Canoe yesterday. In other words I wrote a post about an aspect of the community here in our mountains that I live and work in.
I am a Volunteer fire fighter here and give back in my community. I work through out the North Georgia Mountains. I want all to know about our great mountains and experience wonderful places like Big Canoe. So my post number 1,000 was a community post.
I think if you are at post number 1,000 you should post about your community too. Why ? Because your community , your life there, and what makes up your community is unique. If we all wrote the special 1,000th post about our communities we would create an electronic travelogue of places across our great country and Canada as well.
So in the end post number 1,000 which I was sweating about ended up being exactly what I should have posted about. Guess what? It became a feature in one of the groups here on ActiveRain . How cool is that !!! From post 1 to post 1,000 and all the posts in between ActiveRain has been a great experience.
