Enchanted Christmas Affair 2010 ~ Junior League ~ Austin, TX
This morning was great fun! I made my annual trek to the Christmas Affair sponsored by the Junior League of Austin. This year their theme was "Enchanted" and it was executed with snowflakes falling creating an air of childlike wonderment!
As their brochure said: "Imagine a Forest...a Magical Place Filled with Gifts of Gratitude." The Thursday morning event is kicked off with a private breakfast and 3 hours of comprehensive shopping for those of us who are serious Christmas shoppers.
This venue held at the Palmer Events Center has very selected vendors who are chosen to participate each year. In order to be accepted exhibitors one of the criteria is they must have unique and unusual items. For me this is the event I associate with the start of the Christmas shopping season. Market days are Thursday, November 18th noon-9pm, Friday, November 19th 10am to 8pm, Saturday, November 20th 10am to 7pm and Sunday, November 21st 11am to 5pm. Check out their website: www.jlaustin.org.
Their are many exciting booths but one of my favorites is the Texas Photomontage Series... they offer one-of-a-kind Artwork featuring pop cultural icons of Texas.
Check our their website: www.texasmontage.com.
Another booth Fat Rat was a real hit...check out their website: http://fatratfamily.com
My friend knew the owner: William K. Stidham offering the Sacred Heart Series in his booth. He features Iconic Musicians. Check out his website: www.williamkstidham.com. Really cool and William is from Austin!
Of course, we had to stop at DGZ Chocoates and pick up some Toffarazzi! They are out of Houston and are the best! Check out their website: http://dgzchocolates.com
You can see there is a cross section of items so put this event on your calendar! You still have 3 shopping days left to see it all!!
