Advertising Home Staging with Magnetic Car Signs

By
Home Stager

I am always looking for new ways to market my business. I've heard that people have gotten business from advertising via magnetic signs on their cars so I decided to try it for myself.  Home staging is still a relatively new term here so I figured maybe driving around with the sign will spark some discussion on home staging.

I finally got around to ordering Magnetic Car Signs for my vehicle.  I tried a few different companies, both local and online.  I found some of the software very difficult to work with.  I was not able to upload my Logo on any of the sites.  I think the file may have been too large.

Finally I found Build A Sign.  Their software was pretty easy to use and very easy to change around.  I was able to play with the colors and fonts.  I tried to keep it simple so it would be easy to read when I'm on the road.

Let me know what you guys think.  If you have any creative ways to market your business I'd love to hear about them.

Maureen,  it looks wonderful.  I'm sure you'll get some attention with that and it just may start some dialogues going.  Good luck with it.

Nice job Maureen, a lot of realtors seem to have success with the concept of magnetic car signs. I like your tag line of "getting your home ready for sale", it clearly explains what you do to anyone not familiar with staging.

Hey Maureen

Nice job on the signs, I think it looks great. While I have not gotten any work from my signs, I have gotten a lot of exposure. Just the other day I was driving by a construction site and I heard one of the guys say..ReStyled to Sell and he read my sign. Do you remember the eyewitness news van. Make yourself known around town. Best of luck to you in your business

Maureen - Your sign looks great!  I think it is a great way to get your name out there.  I might look into getting a magnetic sign for my car also.  Thanks for the link.

Maureen - I love the sign - elegant, simple and you get the point across beautifully with "Getting Your Home Ready For Sale".

I will be anxious to hear about the responses that you will get from them - and you will get response, that I promise you!  My signs generate interest and I find that whenever I park in a shopping center, I am certain to have someone approach me to ask more or request a business card.

I always carry brochures, business cards and literature with me - also a small notebook and pen to jot down names and phone numbers.

You car will officially turn into a mini-office on wheels!

Congrats!  And please let me know how they work out!

I am talking with  someone I know in the sign business today about getting signage on my van windows.  I think it will work well for name recognition anyway.  I was a bit worried about a magnetic sign coming off.

Put them in for traveling at higher speeds especially as they get older - they do come off.   Either accept that someone will steal it eventually (mine was) or put them in when parked.  They stick best on clean surfaces.

I like your design.

Great looking sign Maureen.  I too have mag signs and my back window also has my business sign.  I was at a furniture rental place the other day, and the salesperson said they had seen me around town.  It may not get us business from the car sitting next to us or in back of us, but it will get us name recognition!

Here is my comment from Alyse Bromberg's blog

Magnetic Car Signs

I don't use mine any more.  I found that some of the clients I was visiting did not want the neighbors to know they were thinking of putting their home on the market.  I now go to clients homes in stealth mode. I feel like a lot of my clients are going through a divorce or have been recently widowed. I never want to make people uncomfortable.

Also it was getting really embarrassing when people would come up to me all the time and say I saw your car at Dunkin Donuts - I'm a coffee fiend.  People would come up to me and say things like - are your kids sick - I saw your van with the sign on it at the doctor - or - how was dinner Friday - I saw your van at Cassie's Resteraunt.  I felt like people were spying on me.  Cause you know everyone wants to know where I am at any given moment.  OK maybe not that crazy but it did start to bug me.

If anyone has not seen all the examples of everyone's magnetic car signs please check out Alyse's blog.  There are some really great examples there.

Thanks for linking to my Blog Maureen - I have been researching them today.  I'm not sure if I'm going to go with Vinyl or Magnetic, for this reason.

Magnetic  - Cons - Small, and only on the side panels, Pro - I can remove it.

Vinyl - Con - I can't remove it. Pro - It can be larger and looks better.

Maureen, thank you so much for posting this. I have been contemplating signs or not, and I think this post is very insightful!

Man, this was such a long time ago, it feels like I have hauled 1000 tons of furniture since then. I'm still not using my magnetic sign, too many privacy issues.
