When it is time to look for a new best friend, please consider visiting your local animal shelter to rescue a pet. There are so many wonderful animals waiting for loving homes. Contra Costa Animal Services (in my area) even has mobile adoption services at the following locations. It looks like they don't do much for cats (as far as mobile adoptions), so consider taking time to visit the shelter. They have "cat rooms" where you can visit with some of the cats that are available for adoption. The Martinez Shelter: 4800 Imhoff Place

I rescued the best cat ever from my local shelter. We visit the shelter often and play with other cats. They can also use donations of towels and blankets.
Your cats are very cute Heidi! Great reminder about the towels and blankets, too, thank you!

Howdy and evening to you Chris
Chris, when to are wanting to add a family pet member to the family, adopting some is the way for folks to go. There are so many mighty fine and sweet animals in the shelters all across the Country, that sure would make mighty fine family pet members. Helping a animal shelters in anyway one can, sure does give one a mighty good feeling.
Have a good one

Dale, you are absolutely correct. The shelters are always full and always need help. You can even volunteer to walk to dogs if you have time!
Chris
My family has had cats forever and ever, and they have always been adopted from animal shelters.
Chris, this is so important to let know that it's not just cats and dogs that are up for adoptions, but other animals as well. I hadn't realized that so much about horses until I recently went on a trail ride.
Yes, there are lots of kinds or animals needing a new family. Bunnies, Guinea pigs, birds, everything. That is why I always adopt.
