I wasn't nervous, I wasn't scared.  I was thrilled to push that little publish button on my brand new real estate blog on Active Rain on November 2, 2007.  It received one comment and I responded (seemed like the right thing to do) and a blogger was born.

 

My first blog post was not perfect--it was too long, no pics or photos but it was not too bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself. It was about a recent real estate experience. Update:  The client decided to postpone his research study at a New York hospital and still remains in the house.

 

The most satisfying aspect of blogging for me is the appreciation I receive from residents in my local area.  Sure, I enjoy the features and the comments, but when someone tells me I am doing an important service for the Palos Verdes Peninsula homeowners and prospective buyers it makes me want to keep on blogging, and make my blog better with each post and with each passing year.

 

Here's a shout-out to Active Rain for providing the platform, to those early supporters of a fledgling blogger (Big kudos to Patricia Kennedy for selecting me as her newbie of the week!), and the immense knowledge I've gained by reading the posts of other Rainers on a daily basis. 

 

I know my local market better because I blog.  My monthly market reports are dry and boring unless you are selling or buying a house on the Palos Verdes Peninsula--when needed, they are at your fingertips.  As I begin my fourth year in the "Rain" my main topics will be the local market and snippets of my experiences in the market.

Happy Birthday to your blog!  I don't remember the date I first blogged - - Without looking it up, I would guess it was in December a couple years ago . . . I remember I'd had a cold for a few days that gave me some down-time to write something.  Unlike you, I was nervous about pushing that post button and had been reading on AR without posting for about a month.  So funny to think about it now, it's so automatic!
