There are many homes for sale at this time
here in the
Beaverton area of Washington County, but
that doesn’t mean yours has to stay
one for very long. When there is a lot of competition, you
need to make sure
you hold your hand up high and get noticed above the crowd.

What does that mean?
It means that you have to make sure
when someone sees your house, it is the one they remember when it comes
time to
write an offer at the end of the day.
Most homes are the perfect one, but most buyers don’t like
the home
buying process and will settle at the end of the day. So, if you make
yours the
most memorable (in a good way) then you are the one they are going to
most
likely write an offer on after seeing 10 homes in a day.
How do you do this? This
time of year it is all about
colors, smells and just the holiday season. Many people want to see
their
family in your home, so if you give them the things to make their
senses see, feel
and smell, then it will trigger a response.
Bake some gingerbread and leave
the house smelling like
Christmas. Get a Christmas tree, but not too large, you
don’t want to make it
seem like there is no room. Decorate the front of the house with
lights, however,
don’t overdo it, that can actually distract a buyer. You
would be amazed at how much a nice wreath
can distract a buyer when they come to the front door, they will tend
to look
around for flaws less.
If
you are looking to sell your home this holiday season,
give me and my team a call, we would love to help you set the stage and
get
your home sold as quickly as possible.

What if there was a way you could search the MLS for FREE just like Realtors
Now you can access the MLS using similar tools as Realtors. You are in control of what you want to search for, and you can search the MLS at your leisure. The information you submit in the form below can also be used to put you on an automated system where you'll be emailed all homes that meet your search criteria. Good advice Todd. I also enjoyed the computer side chat yesterday.
The sights and sounds and smells of Christmas can certainly tap into that emotional side of buyers and they imagine their own family celebrating the holidays in this home!
Todd - Selling a home during the Holiday Season is always difficult....unless the plan is well laid. Finding a buyer requires the best tactics of the year. This is the time to tap the phone and see where the shoppers are
Good advice for making a seller's home inviting in the holiday season.
Hope this Christmas season holds strong for home sales in your area.
Todd, some really good advice. It is important to realize that homes do sell during this time of year.

Todd - the "visual" used is great as well as the advice making sure you stand out above the crowd. As you stated, we should tell our clients(sellers in this case) to put the best foot forward as buyers have many choices. . . make your home the home they remember for the "great feeling". Thanks for this post. I also echo that your webinar on Friday was great - thank you for sharing your story. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Todd,
The holidays always invite good feelings and a very special time in our lives. We need to reflect that feeling in a home to make it warm and inviting! Great Post! Happy Thanksgiving!
I think no matter what time of year you choose to sell your home, if you make yours the one to stand out, it will be the one that sells if it is priced right.
