Downtown New Port Richey, Florida has a 2 weekend schedule of events for the holidays this year.

There will be two weekends of holiday fun with two night time parades – a boat parade presented by Main Street, and a street parade presented by the Holiday Rotary Club.  The festival incorporates the annual downtown merchants “Shop ‘n Stroll”,  Arts and Crafts Village, kid’s activities, carnival & midway, pony rides, petting zoo, river boat tours and plenty of festive food, live music, and exhibits.

Friday evening enjoy the Holiday Handmade Gifts Gallery from 6-9pm at the Progress Energy Art Gallery (www.nprgallery.com) . Saturday morning enjoy the Holiday Shop ‘n Stroll along the sidewalks of historic downtown New Port Richey.  Visit Holiday Card Lane around Orange Lake and enjoy the Magic of the Season All Day aboard the Friendly KIA Trolley!  Holiday Joy from 9am to 4pm in Sims Park brings children’s choral groups and is host to the annual children’s art show 
. 

SATURDAY evening December 4 brings the much anticipated eleventh annual

RIVERLIGHTS BOAT PARADE! www.riverlightsboatparade.com Enjoy the magic when hundreds line the banks of the Pithlachascotee (Cotee River) to view the brightly lit and beautifully decorated boats in this wondrous night time parade. Sing along to your favorite holiday tunes with favorite radio DJ from WJQB True Oldies 106.3 radio.

Boaters spend the day decorating their boats with the most festive and outrageous creations to compete for awards and prizes! Observers line the banks of the Cotee River at Sim’s Park and can enjoy some light entertainment, hot cocoa & coffee to help keep them warm while they wait for the fabulous crafts to cruise on by! 

 SUNDAY afternoon visit Progress Energy Art Gallery from noon to 3pm for the 1st Annual NOEL NIBBLER Gallery Holiday Party!

The following weekend come back downtown on Friday evening, December 10 to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at Halina’s Interiors from 5:30 pm -8:30 pm - the first 100 children receive a gift.  At 6:30 pm go to Sims Park for the Holiday Movie in the Park, along with festive food vendors and the second weekend of a magical carnival and midway.

Saturday morning come into Sims Park for BREAKFAST WITH SANTA & MRS. CLAUS and enjoy scrumptious pancakes courtesy of John Merker and his IHOP elves!  The fun continues in Sims Park with a complete Christmas celebration including an Arts and Crafts Village, live music on the main stage, River Boat tours on the Miss Daisy, (www.missdaisyboattours.com) petting zoo and Pony Rides!  Enjoy Genesis School’s live performance of  ‘Charlie Brown Christmas accompanied by chorus and Drum line.

Stay for the 34th Annual Downtown New Port Richey Holiday Parade, 
hosted by the Holiday Rotary Club  at 7pm
; THEN come back into the park for  music, festival food and more carnival fun!  

Sunday continues the fun with more live music, gift shopping at the Arts and Craft Village, pony ride and petting zoo, River Boat tours, kid’s activities, festive food and carnival.

With so many options, why not come on out and enjoy some or all of them.

Looks like a festive time ahead in New Port, Florida. 

We really enjoy the boat parades around here.  There is usually one on Broken Bow lake and one on Raymond Gary Lake.
