Laura- so glad you like it!
Roger- wish you could have been here this weekend. Gorgeous weather, and attended the American Orchid Society Fall show. The displays were so beautiful.
Laura- B&W photos can be interesting but if you want to put a smile on a face, just add the color.
Anna- thank you. I was so busy taking photos, I almost forgot to "stop and smell the orchids!"
Patricia- You're right. I think they just bring about different feelings.
J.Phlip- I'm no Ansel Adams either. I love them equally, though.
Wish I could have been there too, but you know where I was and what I was doing.
Great illustration, Kathy. It would be a pretty dismal world without color. I bet the show was fabulous!
Roger- yep... in the cold weather, but with a friend :)
Sharon- What was the name of the movie several years ago about everything being in black and white?? You would have loved the orchids!
Kathy - Great illustration. I can't imagine a world without colour - I'll take the colourful photo over the black, white & grey one any day.
My favorite flowers.....in fact you reminded me to get some more bulbs to plant soon!
Sally- I think the black and white photo reminds me of the grey days we sometimes have when it's overcast and rainy.
Trey- It's that time of year. How about caladiums!
Lou- I know my face lit up when I first walked into the AOS building!
Barbara- reminds me of all of the totally white walls we see in some of our houses!
Kathy,
I like both as both photos would work in a particular setting...Although I love color, I admire Ansel Adams' photography because of the shades of gray and black. Thought provoking, thanks A
kathy, My friend's husband was color-blind and always had his wife lay out his clothes for him. He didn't want brown socks with black pants. I love color and so thankful for my eyesight.
Ernie #5- sorry I missed you, and yes, oh gosh I remember Navajo White!!!
Ron & Alexandra- I like them both as well... but just depends upon my mood.
Rebecca- Oh my.... I've only known one person who was color-blind but you're right.. makes you treasure your eyesight.
Kathy ~ what beautiful photos you've taken! I like the one with color the best because it seems to have more life ... but the black and white is stunning.
Maureen- You can just feel the energy radiating from the one done in color!
VB- All right, then, I'll have to find more with color!!!
Kathy, We would be in a pretty plain, boring world, wouldn't we? Funny I'm reading this the day after I watched the Wizard of Oz. The first 20 minutes are in black and white and then Dorothy arrives in the Land of Oz and her life is full of color and adventure. Love it!
Sandy- oh that's too funny... I turned it on for a few minutes yesterday and you're absolutely right. I always felt kind of depressed when I watched the first part in B&W. Adding color definitely made a difference for me.
Color plays a tremendous part in our lives and how we feel and react. Your illustration is a perfect example.
Nothing wrong with black and white and the contrast can be beautiful.
Margaret
Margaret- Color, or lack of it, evokes a lot of different emotions and moods, doesn't it!
