I have made fun of this hospital but in fact it is extremely well run and the nursing staff is just superb.  I have been very impressed with all that work here.  I can't comment on the food or drink because I can't have any of that stuff, but in all other ways it is great.

My Dr came by last night and said she had got me upgraded to a private room.  I guess it is like being a frequent flyer or getting comped as a high roller in Las Vegas.  They will be moving me here in about an hour. I would guess that she qualifies as the frequent flyer and I know when I and my insurance companies get the bill for this we will have qualified for the high roller upgrade.

Good Luck, Good Lending, and Aloha

Hi Mary -- Had not thought of that but you are so correct -- They won't even give me an ice chip! and never mind the goop they put thr0ough the feeding trube.  I have not had anything to eat sense the 17th of Oct of last year and by golly we are almost back to where we need to be so that I can eat.  I am a Food Network Junky and have so many recipies that I want to try as soon as I can eat.  Aloha

Sally -- I am going in a minute and thanks for your comments.  Aloha

Aloha Bruce. I'm not sure why you are in there, but I was in ORMC in a private room about four weeks ago. My back surgery went great but the hospital wasn't so I'm pleased to hear that you are comfortable. Good luck with whatever you're having and Mahallo for bringing this to us.

I spent some time there in December and had to eat from the IV.  It was a good way to lose weight, but not very filling.

I hope you are doing well.

You have such a great attitude, I bet the nursing staff absolutely loves you! Once they allow you to eat, I get they sneak you a tasty treat or two.

Bruce, well, congratulations on the private room.  That certainly means that you are doing well.  I bet the nurses will sneak you some special treats once you can begin to eat again.  If they don't, I know Linda will!!!

So glad to see you are doing so well.

Bruce,

Maybe the private room is because of your blogging.....you know the sounds of keyboards, and the lights from the monitor keeping your room mate up.......

Glad you're coming along.......and that this surgery was a success.

Oh come on, Bruce.  You charmed all of the nurses, just like you charm us, and they gave you a free upgrade.  Wish that we could do the same.  You "sound" terrific-

By the way, Bruce and Linda- I found an amazing hot dog balloon (big) on the internet.  I very much wanted to send it HOWEVER:  Linda mentioned that pain control (pills) were part of post surgery.  I didn't want you to look up at this HUGE floating hotdog, Bruce, and mistakenly think that you were in "heaven"... :)

LOL, Laurie's so funny.

Bruce, I'm so glad to hear that you're getting your own room ...now you'll be able to stay up half the night and blog away to your heart's delight....maybe you can even start adding sound files to your blogs !

It's great to hear from you and I'm so glad things are going along smoothly,

Hi Bruce,
I am so happy to be corresponding directly with you -- not that I didn't enjoy Linda she is a great lady and did you proud.  But, it's just so good to have you back.

Yes, I bet that bill of yours (insurance company's) will qualify for high roller status.  Not that it matters, you can't put a price on your health.
