Dogs have such good tracking systems and can smell danger for miles. They find lost children, can sniff out cancer, exploseives, help handicapped people and more. Not to mention, they are great as pets, when they are retired.
Instead of hiring people, in hopes that they pay attention to the traveling public, they could hire service dogs to sniff out the airport areas. Then, they could investigate further, into that area or person.
Service dogs, I am sure, cost much less than those huge xray machines. The dogs will not give us an opportunity for creating cancer in our bodies. Those machines do not offer that guarantee. Remember, years ago, that they became more aware of the dangers of xrays, at any level. Even at the dentist, they no longer xray your teeth, as often as they used to. I wonder about the danger, espacially to, pregnant women, young children and cancer patients.
So, write your Congressman, and offer this bit of advice to them. Let's put the animal detectives to work.
