Excuses....we all make them. Or do we?
Everyday we hear an excuse, usually they sound like "sorry I'm late", or "I forgot to call", or maybe "Sorry I really f...d it up this time" Have you heard that song yet?
Anyway, yesterday one of my web site techies said " I goofed, I did not do it right" I'll fix it!"
What? No Excuse? He did not blame somebody else, took the blame like a man. Wow! How many people do we meet in a day that would do or say something like that? Would you? Reminded me of a book I read some 20 plus years ago, about a parachute jumper, title was "No Excuse"... author? (this is my excuse for today) He jumped out of the plane and you guessed it... the chute would or did not open!
Picture this...You are jumping out of a plane, ground is getting closer, your life is passing by, and you are blaming someone else for not packing the chute correctly, or the string broke, or your bad luck, or WHATEVER....You are going to die.
Unless, unless you stop making excuses and think what you need to do to fix your problem. There are no excuses when the ground is coming at you fast. You fix the problem, you and you alone, you fix it!
Yesterday's problem wasn't as serious as losing your life, but he owned up, he did not make an excuse. It made my day! Thanks!
