Exploring NYC Welcome to the Underground by Feng Shui Long Island NY consultant
When you hear of the word "Subway" you may think not safe, dirty and so on. Laura Cerrano New York City Feng Shui consultant would love to open you eyes to a world underground full of it's own culture and pace.

Stairs to head into the subway, you go down a long way :)

Number 7 train leaving from Grand Central Terminal
traveling by the NYC Meto Subway system is faster, cheaper and they stop not very far from your destination :) Besides being a great transportation option, you can also see really great artwork, performance artist and musicians.

Mosaic artwork in the NYC subway system
Heading down town on the A,C, or E subway line you will come across some great artwork at the stop of Spring Street. The station was full of cast bronze sculptures of interesting made up creatures that interacted with the environment of the subway. Unfortunately I did not realize this until the train was leaving :) sorry no pics to go with the description.

There is so much more to see. When exploring NYC try not to always stay eye level or look up, see what lies below your feet :)

Awesome! What a great post. Thank you for sharing this post.
AWESOME 2! Your talent with capturing a "sense of place" via your photos inspires and delights!!! Thank you!
Ralph, thank you for stopping by and checking it out :)
JaneAnne, Thank you, I love capturing places in still moments and telling a story. Thank you! :)
Carole & Laura, it has been over 15 years since I have been to NYC and I was shocked how clean the subway looked that is not the old subway I was used to. Totally in Shock in a good way:))
Nice Job Laura! I think many have perceptions ( based on long ago experiences) and you have certianly impressed me with this presentation on an impressive subway system. The photos are great!
My first taste of a subway was in Chicago, and at the time they were renovating to add shops, etc. Much different from the dumpy old days!
Hello Laura and a great plug for New York & great photo pics ...
Vegas Bob ;)
Laura, there is something magical about a subway. Of course I never had to ride it everyday so it was always fun for me. I so enjoy your posts and new ways to look at things we take for granted.
Endre, hahaha..yes that is also much of what I wanted to capture. From the 80's till now, so much has changed! It is as you can see haha...very clean and safe :)
William, This is an amazing transformation for the NYC subway station and they continue to improve each day, mouth and year. For those who are familiar with NY they will know the amazing change is has gone through.
Debi, that is is! The only thing that still remains the same...is the smell hahaha :)
V-Bob, thank you and great new profile pic as well :)
Kate, very true, I have a freind who works in the city and I have no problem taking the subway all around. She has worked there for a year and rather take a cab now haha. It's a fun place to explore.
Looks like you were in the late hours since not many rides were around. I used to take the 6 to Hunter College and sometimes would notice the old closed stations in between the ones still in use. The subway is the best way to gt around NYC.
Hey Eva!
That is for sure! The subway is so much easier and when the weather is not good, very easy to stay dry and warm...specially during the Winter :) Wish they didn't keep raising the fare tho.
