We all have our trials and tribulations in life and there is no other holiday so profound for remembering what we are grateful for than Thanksgiving. Of course our holidays are commercialized in hopes of businesses making more money although it's up to you and me to think about the meaning behind the 'day'.
The other evening my husband was doing his usual 'grabbing the tv remote and surfing' the channels like there was no tomorrow. He happened across the PBS channel and for a moment stopped to 'check it out' because it was the same gentleman who gave his 'opinion and input' on our local politicians.
Right at that moment the gentleman stated, "The Thanksgiving holiday is approaching but there are many people who have nothing to be thankful for". (not the same exact words but you get the jest) He started to go on about the economy but my husband pushed the button to go to the next channel. I looked at him and he said, "Messed up".
Yup, we were on the same page.
After many years exploring the possibility of 'change' I managed to hop on that train and turn my life around so that the love came from within. I am thankful for having the ability to take that risk and try MANY things other than the things that kept giving me the same results that weren't working.
This opened many doors to get to where I am today because I learned well...that I had to love myself before I could love another and I had to be confident in myself before I could be successful. Everything else followed.
False pride serves no purpose and true meaning of being thankful comes from within.
Then...and only then....do I feel grateful for everything else around me.
No matter how little or small, take that bit of gratitude
....... and spread it around.
