Monday I decided to give back to the community that has blessed me so much this year. The crown jewel of our local Christmas charity is Operation Christmas Child. People from all walks of life pool their resources and purchase small gifts for children in need. For under twenty dollars, A child somewhere will have a Christmas Present to unwrap!

      After months of collecting, the time came to load all those boxes into an 18 wheeler. Approximately 12-16 shoes boxes fit into each container. As a result those containers push 60-75 lbs each. Time to pay the piper! This is what needed to be loaded in order for the children to have Christmas.

 Yep, that's 53 feet of good ole American trailor! Thanks to the good folks at Kingsville Baptist Church the boxes were all on board by the end of the day.

How many Operation Christmas Child Boxes will a 53 foot rig carry? Believe it or not over 750!! After a brief stop in North Carolina the boxes will be sent all over the world. This morning my back hurts and If I don't see another shoe box this year that will be swell. But thinking about all those happy kids Christmas morning somehow makes the pain subside. I encourage all Realtors to plug into at least one charity this holiday season. Let's make a difference this holiday season!

Doug ~  Had to lean on the button for this one -- we have done the shoe boxes as well and it is so wonderful for the children in our family to help and to understand what these small tokens can mean to other children who will get only this one box.  Thank you for your generous heart and giving spirit.  I know you will have a very Blessed Thanksgiving!

Doug, I look forward to packing one of those little shoeboxes each year :)  Way to go I delivered mine to our church don't know how or when the Lake Charles group of boxes were loaded. 

Can I whine and tell you my back hurts from beginning to decorate my own home and climbing up and down the ladder all day lol
