Home Sellers, Keep it Tidy

The one question I get more often than not when listing a property for sale is "What can I do to speed the sale process?" My top answer, Keep it clean! home buyers are out there, they may be touring your home next. Take a few minutes to tidy when you go to sleep and the next day you'll wake up to a house that is sutable for showings. It only takles a few minutes, throw loose papers in the bin, clear the counter tops, put away any thing thats not being used. You will see the rewards when your home is chosen above all the rest. I am curious are you advising your clients to do home staging? Many real estate in the Bonita Springs real estate market are doing that.

Glenn, yes I sure am. Home staging is big out here in So Cal too.

I wonder if the staging is really over done, but it does give the buyer of what they life might be if they buy the home.

I'm sure the home staging goes over very well in your area, Bonita Springs real estate. It does seem to help the buyer picture their own furniture in the home if its staged rather than vacant.

I have always found that vacant is better because of the lack of distractions and possible use of undersized furniture to make things look larger than what they truly are.

I totally agree, Darla. That is excellent advice!

For me, when I stage I use "minimalism". Small furniture and not too much of it. In fact, I only stage the key rooms for exactly the reason Glenn mentions.
