Your friendly Realtor from Lake Havasu City here with some 5 minute holiday decorating ideas for everyone. Each one is simple and ends with excellent results.
From Christmas Past - Holiday cards from previous years become extra flair for your mantel. Use a slim stick suspended between two vases or potted poinsettias and line up your cards in chronological order.
Place Out a Wreath - Paint a magnolia-leaf wreath this year and hang it on your door or inside your home on an empty wall.
Hand in Hand - Pin mittens your children have out grown along a length of yarn to display them on your mantel or bookcase. Cute socks or caps can also be used.
Decorating Clementine's - Make a darling Clementine Wreath for your door or newel post. Use heavy gauge wire and string through a Clementine to add a jingle bell. Twist the wires to hold them together and add a large bow.
A Piney Idea - Pine Cones add a nice touch. Simply spray your cones one or multiple colors and cluster together in a wicker basket to place on the mantel or a table top or you could simply leave the pine cones their natural color and tip the spikes with a touch of glue and sprinkle glitter over the ends let dry and add to your basket.
Frosty - Sprinkle faux snow along a mantel, window sill or table top for that Frosty Snow look.
Joy in Bundles - Make some lovely tree decorations by collecting small sticks from the yard and clipping them to the same size with sharp scissors. Arrange them into a star shape and tie together with jute or twine.
Sweeten it Up - For a display that looks good enough to eat, fill pretty glassware with sugar and mini marshmallows, then stuff old-fashioned stick candies inside.
Step Up the Show - To show off some of your most eye-catching ornaments, thread different lengths of thin ribbon or string and tie them together in a row to wind around your banisters or hang from your lighting.
Consider other places to arrange decorations, such as window ledges or bookcases. Fill old jars with nuts, winterberries or red peppercorns and nestle a tea light on top or use pine boughs in a large vase and hang a handful of ornaments on them. However you choose to decorate your home, enjoy the preparation and have a Happy Holiday.
