The ability to set appointments on the fly is crucial in today's real estate and business world. I've always used the Gmail platform for this because its simple to open a browser window, add events, modify them, invite people, etc.
But how about when your on the run with your iphone? Even with a shortcut on your phone, you still have to login to the phone browser and navigate to the calendar. It can be a hassle, especially if your in a meeting and need to add an appointment quickly.
In the past, I sync'ed ical (mac) with the iphone, and google. But it never worked right and I abandoned it after a while. Unless you have use for it, only sync the gmail calendar with the iphone and not the computer calendar since the browser seems to work fine for the purpose of setting appointments and events.
1. Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CalDAV Account
2. Under Server, enter www.google.com
3. Under user name, enter the email address you use to access your Google calendar as well as the password.
4. Under Description, type a name of the calendar.
5. Hit next and your done!
Now every time you need to add an appointment or event, you can use your iphone calendar and it will sync with your google calendar. This works even if your firm runs on the google platform and your domain is different than gmail.com!
If you have multiple calendars try setting a default one that will launch upon clicking the calendar app. Goto Mail, Contacts, Calendars > at the bottom choose your default calendar
To sync other calendars that are already sync'ed to your google calendar, goto:Google Calendar Iphone Sync Settings Select the sync'ed calendars and remember to save.
