How many ways are there for handling a seller's objection?

By
Real Estate Agent

As I watched Rick and Ines post on "Working with a Realtor and saw all the good responses, the idea hit me.

Why don't we go through a series of objections and everyone can post how they handle it. Try to keep it simple so we can pick the script.

I will post one a day and then we all can share each other's dialogue. The first will be in the next post Called Objection #1

For those who think they don't use a script, think again. We all have a script, the difference is some are written down and some have been adlib so many times they need to be written down.

There are basically 10 listing appointment objections with many variations but basically ten.

•1.   We only want to give you a 30/90 day listing.

•2.   We were thinking about (X) company or we never heard of your company.

•3.    We'll save the commission by selling it ourselves.

•4.    Let's list high, we can always come down later.

•5.    We want to think it over.

•a.    We want to sleep on it.

•6.    I have a friend in the business.

•7.    Another agent said they could get me more money.

•8.    You haven't sold any homes in my area.

•9.    What do you do to sell homes?

•10. We want you to cut your commission.

•a.    The other agent said he/she would.

I like this idea. I am looking for answers on fsbo " I cannot afford x%", and others you mentioned above.
