Many of you know much of what I have been through.  For those of you who don't, let me recap and then I'll share with you what I am thankful for.

  • In 2005, my beautiful home in West Palm Beach was destroyed and then burned to the ground from Hurricane Wilma.  My family barely made it out alive, but we and the pets were all ok. The home was a total loss.
  • Insurance fraud issues from the agent cost of $6 figures out of my pocket and cost me my entire savings.  Because of the depth of the fraud, I'm out of the money and no hope (that I'm told) to recap my losses
  • In 2006/2007 my real estate business collapsed and cost me my business
  • I moved to Charlotte and started another business and because of the economy and other factors, it was lost
  • At the same time, as that business was doing well, I built a beautiful mini-mansion for my family and because of the loss of that business, I lost that house and my sports car
  • I started a new business (which I am currently doing) at the end of 2008
  • In July 2009, I was hit by an SUV, dragged down a hill, through a metal fence and then run over by the vehicle which put me in the hospital for over a month, 7 operations and left me paralyzed
  • Told I would never walk again, 8 months later I was on a walker and then a cane
  • In May of 2010, I was diagnosed with one of the rarest neurological diseases in the country, I am one of 15 people in the country with this disease.  They are still trying to figure out what is wrong
I am thankful for many things.

I am thankful for:
  • Surviving all the issues that I have been through and have survived
  • Making it through the tests that I have been given and still am positive
  • Having an amazing wife who has stuck by my side through thick and thin (with quite a bit of thin during those times)
  • My children having the understanding that Dad can't do all the things that he used to, but keeps trying
  • Having a business partner who has also become a very valued friend
  • Being able to live in America and having the freedom to do what we want, when we want
  • Making it through all that I have been through knowing that it will get better
  • The many issues that I have had to go through because it has forced me to learn to overcome these obstacles and make me better at what I have to do to succeed
  • The understanding that I have gained through my past so that I can have better understanding in dealing with others for the future
What are you thankful for?

With Enthusiasm,

Jeffrey M. Richman

Hi Sussie,

I will join you in that prayer!  I have been getting a lot of people that would like me to write details about the things that have happened in detail and how I've been able to make it through.

I appreciate your comments, thank you
