I received this in an email and I thought you would enjoy reading the document that sets aside this one day a year for families and friends to unite in giving thanks for all that we have. As a nation, I hope that we can return to a unified voice in giving thanks to God, who makes our very breaths possible, not to mention the families, homes, great jobs, and all other blessings that we enjoy.

How can a small minority remove "In God We Trust" from our schools, courthouses, money,etc. It is such an assault on all that the majority believe.

I teach children's church at my church from time to time and did so last Sunday. I looked up the first Thanksgiving proclamation and it was in 1676... 100 years before we were ever a nation or had a president, none the less, my lesson was to read the children the proclamation and let them really understand how much our "nation" is founded on God and trust in God. I hope you don't mind me sharing the link to that proclamation also.

Conrad - because we let them be the vocal majority and choose to stay silent about what we value in this country. I hope that ends soon as well!

Tammy - I don't mind that at all. I posted this one because the first President of the United States wrote an official proclamation that this country is only in existence because of God. I realize the first Thanksgiving was giving glory to God for the safe voyage to this awesome New World by the Pilgrims. Thank you for sharing that link.
