8 Comments on REMEMBER THOSE IN NEED AT CHRISTMAS ... DONATE NOW
Gloria....what a great idea.....This is a good way to embrace the season and help others out!
Larry, it breaks my heart to know there are so many children who, without our help and support won't have a Christmas... Every little donation helps!!
Gloria,
Thanks for reminding all of us that children are bearing the worst part of this economic situation. All of us know families that are hungry, if we will take a few minutes to think!
On Wednesday, Nov. 17th, our local newspaper ran an article about a 6 year old young lady named McKenzie who replied when she was asked what she wanted for Christmas "1,000 toys!" Lest you think this is a selfish young lady, no, she wants these toys for children with cancer at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Immediately I had to get involved in her drive to collect these 1,000 toys! If you do not know someone who needs help, email me at knightfreida@yahoo.com and give me your phone number. We would love your help!
McKenzie started her toy drive last year when a friend was treated at this hospial for leukemia. This is pretty amazing--isn't it?
My wife and I have started early so we will have no excuses in getting our special hampers together in time. Thanks for the gee-up.
Freida, you are so right... its the children who are the worst victims. What a remarkable young lady McKenzie is....she is truly an amazing child with a giving heart... so inspiring!!
Larry, starting early is great, good for you and your wife! We all get so busy the closer we get to Christmas, that often these poor children are forgotten.
I wish our school did that. We came across our families on craigslist. After a few emails back and forth making sure they were for real, decided to take on the kids Christmas lists. We have done this for the last 3 years running. And the 2 families we helped in the past have gotten back on their feet an are now helping families this year. Great post!
Liz, thanks for your note... its a wonderful idea... wish more schools and organizations would get involved..
