Do you feel guilty when you "do nothing?"

Do you feel guilty when you "do nothing?"

I am so accustomed to going full steam ahead from daylight 'till way past dark that I find it hard to really take it easy.  So maybe you are the same way?

Today is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I am exhausted!  With the office closed for a couple of days, I've run a 5K (won by the way); contributed to a wonderful Thanksgiving feast; walked in a two mile fundraiser; hosted a fabulous sleep-over for three wonderful grandsons; negotiated two offers on the same condo (still ongoing); caught up on the housework and laundry and now I want to go to bed early and read.  Why do I feel guilty?

As my dear friend Roger Mucci would say..."Make it a great day."

Good night.

And 3 little boys too? I suggest you don't run through your life. Take a deep breath and relax and enjoy the moments and memories. It took me a long time to learn to relax and not feel guilty. I am grateful I can do this now.

Guilty for doing nothing?  Not at all.  In fact, I feel guilty if I don't take a day once in awhile just to do "nothing."  It's quite refreshing.

I can relate Marian!  I'm not very good at doing "nothing", I think it's an art.  And it was never taught in my childhood home -- we were expected to be doing something productive at all times.  It's not the worst character trait, I know.  But I'd like to learn to take some time off and not feel like I'm cutting class!

Lets shake things up at your home today!

You've been a busy girl and you deserve a day to do nothing.  Those boys are adorable and I know they just love their Jamma.  Your dear friend Roger Mucci is telling you to "Make it a great night of sleep".................rest my friend.

I do tend to feel guilty especially if something comes up during the week but then I remember the other 80 hours I put in a normal week and it feels better.

I can't catch my breath because you ran a 5k and walked 2 miles. Please tell me this was not on the same day.

Thanks for the reminder that it's okay to take time to do nothing. However, If I ever accomplished all that you did, I feel fine about doing nothing for a week!

Wow! You did accomplish a lot this weekend!  I too sometimes feel guilty for taking a break, but you definitely deserve it!

It is important to remember to take some time for yourself every once in a while!
