While on my way to the Assessor's and Zoning Offices at City Hall the other day I found a terrific parking space directly across the street from City Hall.  As I pulled into the space I noticed an older gentleman rummaging around in the car in front of me.  I noticed he continued rummaging around as I walked to the parking meter, to my surprise it was my lucky day, I didn't need to put a quarter in the meter, there was plenty of time left on the meter to do all my errands at City Hall.

By this time the older gentleman was looking a little frantic and was crouched down outside of the car and reaching in under the front seat.  When I need a quarter for a meter one of the last places I look is under the front seat so I asked him if he'd like a quarter for the meter.  He said "Oh Please that's wonderful" so I put the quarter in his meter that I otherwise would have used in my meter.  He kindly thanked me as I passed by him on my way to City Hall and he said he not only didn't have a quarter but he couldn't find his wallet.

When I returned to my car from City Hall the older gentleman's car was still in front of mine with no sign of him and there was more time on his meter.

Hi John~ How kind of you!  Did you put another quarter in his meter?  Don't you just love being able to pay it forward?

Hi Vickie,  Thanks!  No I didn't, I was thinking of doing that that's how I noticed there was more money in the meter, I assume his luck continued by finding his wallet and another quarter.
