I very suddenly got a nasty case of the crud over the weekend. I felt fine in the morning and was a mess by Monday morning. So, today and the next couple days I think, I have scheduled some recovery time. I was so wiped that I have not even posted anything in the Rain this week. I was going through some of my travel photos and I think this one is representative and a good example of why I like Verona in Italy. It is a gorgeous city with a river. This photo does not show the river because we are on the other side of the river looking toward the countryside.

When we were in Italy a few years ago, we took the train from Venice where we were based, for a day trip to Verona. We found the people in Verona were actually much, much friendlier than the residents of Venice. I think Venetians are just over tourists. Problem is, that's virtually all that's keeping the city going financially. In Verona, I remember we had lunch at a sidewalk cafe that overlooked the Colisseum there. It was like having a lunch in a picture postcard!

Venice had many amazing sights, but would rather stay in Verona if we ever get the chance to go back to that part of Italy.
