McCormick Ranch Parkway is one mile long, running only between Scottdale and Hayden Road at the south west entrance into the McCormick Ranch community. Someone told me they thought it was the prettiest road in Scottsdale. It's easy to see why, with the lakes, golf course and mountain views. This 15 second clip shows just a few of the scenic views along the way.

Hi Dru!  I would LOVE to see your clip of the prettiest road!!  Did anyone tell you it wasn't showing up on your finished blog?  If you didn't know, don't feel bad--  that kind of thing happens to me ALL the time  :)  Good luck with it!

Hi Sandi,

Thanks for the heads-up.  I'm not sure what's going on.  When I go to the entry, I click on the play button and get about a 15 second slide show.  What are you seeing?

Hi Dru,
Yes, that is what happened when I tried it also, just turns off after about 15 seconds.  Hope you can get it up and going.

Hi Dru,

I'm no expert  (at ALL), so you might need back-up support!  After "few of the scenic views along the way.", there is only blank white screen.

Did you actually save the clip or URL onto the Active Rain site?  Did you copy and paste?  To my understanding, it actually has to be uploaded to the site in order to be viewed by other people.  On your end, it looks ok because your computer can access the file on it's hard drive.  However, if it's not saved to AR, there is nothing for us to view.  I would never have known this if it hadn't already happened to me!

Hope that helps?

Sandi and Cynthia,

I've been playing around with the ANIMOTO software, so it's great to get your feedback.  The free version only allows for about a 15 second slideshow, so I've updated the length in my original post.  Your feedback is helpful is deciding whether this is a good tool to use going forward.  In total, there you should be seeing about 10-12 photos in a pretty quickly paced presentation.  Maybe it's too short and too fast -- there's a premium version that allows for longer presentations, but I'm not sure I gain much control in the content presentation.

I used to live in Scottsdale 15 years ago and still go back to visit. I love McCormick Ranch. Thanks for the clip. It worked for me. Thanks!

FYI- My favorite hotel is the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch. I love the ambiance and the main courtyard cactus is a sight to behold.

Maribeth,

The Hyatt is gorgeous.  Between the pool, the golf course, and the spa, there's something for everyone to do.

You'll love this aerial photo in their web page:  http://scottsdale.hyatt.com.  Plus, they have a virtual tour and slide show that's sure to bring back a few more memories.

Dru, I never show property in McCormick Ranch without taking my clients down McCormick Parkway at some point.  I always head west from Hayden to Scottsdale Road so that they get the full effect of Camelback Mountain rising behind the golf course.  I have long felt that this was our city's finest postcard.  Great post, Dru!
