We had beavers take down about 5 small trees along our creek bank earlier this year and they attempted to take a large one like this in your picture - but only succeeded in killing it in its upright position, very frustrating!

It is amazing the damage that the Beaver did to that tree.  Wonder how long it takes them to take down one that side?

Cecilia, I understand, they have done the same to a lot of trees here and some are huge, you wonder what they were thinking!

Dale, this tree actually fell onto another tree and I went to take a picture of that and somehow they got it down. I believe the engineer was removed from their position!!

Andrzej, I should get a time lapse camera and see what they do.

Diane, it took them a couple of months, but we never saw them actually chewing on it so my guess is they don't do it all the time....and lots of water breaks!

David, there was a beaver in suburban Virginia who became sort of famous for doing this stuff!
