Highways between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe were experiencing duress much of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Yesterday, local news provided scenes. which made highway 80 appear more like a combat zone, rather than a major transportation artery.
However, Sierra skiing conditions today were likely to be some of the best. Lake Tahoe always presents special winter scenes!

William -As much as I love Lake Tahoe in Summer, it is absolutely magical in Winter! I think it is the added dimension provided by the snow on the mountains, rocks and foliage which make it the wonder it becomes.
Myrl your photos of Lake Tahoe are beautiful. I would love to have the opportunity to visit the area.
The photos are just lovely, Myrl. They make me want to take a trip right NOW. I love the one where the trees look like a chorus line with the mountains as a backdrop.

What great shots! It looks so pretty with the snow. We had a light snow covering for Thanksgiving. Looked more like Christmas than Thanksgiving with the freshly fallen snow.

Hi Myrl - These are some your best shots and I like them all. Sometimes I miss the snow but then I remember the shovel in the shed next to the boots :-)
Just gorgeous! Makes me want to bundle up and play in the snow........oh wait! It's 55 degrees outside and likely to rain any minute.
Diane - You should make a point to visit Lake Tahoe one day. It's wonderful year round, but if you like skiing, winter is best!
Toni - That particular photo is in an area where snow-mobiling goes on. It's a stunning place to be.
Brigita - The snows have provided skiing conditions at Lake Tahoe which are the best in decades, for this early in the year. You're right about it appearing more like Christmas than Thanksgiving too!

Juli - I've never shoveled snow a day in my life. I'm certain I wouldn't enjoy it. . .LOL
John - If you have experienced living in snow, and now live where you do in Florida, I can't imagine you wanting to be anywhere else. I'd rather sit on a beach chair at Merritt Island anyday, than shovel snow:-)
Ann - It's VERY cold here in Sacramento the last few days. Although we had rain over the weekend, it was sunny today. Still temps were only in the 40s and low 50s.
Myrl, I love Lake Tahoe. I've only been there in the summer, but there is of course snow at the higher elevations. It's such a beautiful place and you've captured it perfectly. I've always said that the two perfect locations for me to live or split time during the year would be Lake Tahoe and Aruba.
