Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and it's a great day to stop and reflect on all of our blessings and things to be thankful for. I thought I would put together a list of five things - related to Phoenix and real estate - that we can be grateful for this year. Please chime in with your own items as well. 1 - The fall weather is phenomenal! Isn't the weather incredible? For all of you Canadians and other friends from the north, I'm sure you are enjoying these wonderful fall temperatures. One of the best reasons to live here, especially if you're a snowbird, is the perfectly crisp desert fall weather. If you haven't visited Phoenix this time of year, consider making the trip. You will fall in love.
2 - Mortgage rates have remained low! Also incredible, isn't it? Interest rates are historically low which make home buying and re-financing a great opportunity for many. This is definitely something to be grateful for as more families become homeowners and many are able to refinance and lower their monthly bills.
3 - Snow to the north. Many families are heading to Flagstaff this weekend and taking advantage of the snowfall just two hours from where we live in Phoenix. I'm really grateful to live in a warmer climate but have snow so accessible. Such a blessing.
4 - Family-friendly city. I love living in Phoenix and a big reason is how family-friendly the city is. The schools and health care are good, there are a ton of outdoor recreation options and it's a city that celebrates the holidays with concerts, Phoenix Zoo lights, botanical gardens luminaries and numerous other events that people of all ages can enjoy. No wonder so many people want to live here.
