Delayed Email with outlook

You can send emails at a predetermined date and time.

Outlook is very powerful and will most of what you want it to do right out of the box. With some tweaking it is unbelievable.

Outlook is a forms driven program. Everything you do is done through a form. Even email is a form. You fill in the recipient, the subject and the message and off you go.

Rob, thanks I haven't used this feature either. I did you the notify of receipt function when someone wasn't responding to me and I wanted to make sure they were getting it. Thanks, in what situations do you use the delay function ?

 Mainly reminders

Appointment confirmation

Team meetings

Investor seminar reminders...

It's Tuesday and you set an appointment for Friday. You open up a template that has "confirm the appointment" text along with your address and directions along with a link to a map.

If you know they get their email at night, you would want it to go Thursday afternoon for when they get home or if they get their email at work early Friday morning. Plus if they see an email from you that was sent at 6:30 AM they will think you are a hard worker.

These are great tips. I knew that the feature existed; I just couldn't find a use for it. Thanks!

Rob great tip. I did not even think about this type of feature. I am glad that this group has been started.

Rob- Excellent tips. One thing I will offer is that you need to be connected to your ISP that you send email through. I know most of us are online 24/7 but just in case one of the readers has a dialup connection or turns off their computer or closes Outlook then the delayed sending will not work until the connection is restored.

I am learning more about Outlook daily and it is an excellent tool for agents.

Best,

Scott

I agree from a technical perspective. From a practical perspective, if you running a real estate practice in the 2t century and you are using dial up. Well what can I say.

Rob- LOL!!! well, I do know some agents who are using dial up. The other problem though might be that they have a DSL or cable connection but turn off their computer. Many agents I know turn off their computers when they are "done for the day" that would also cause the emails to not be sent until the computer was turned back on.

But dial up in today's day and age is quite uncommon!

Best,

Scott

If you are using dial up or turning off your computer, then this series is not for you.

This is what I love about AR the willingness to share knowledge with others. I find I learn something or am reminded about something that has slipped into the backwaters of the mind every day here on active|rain

PS: Dial up may not be as uncommon as you think we live in the country (not quite the backwoods) here in Ontario and until just this past year dial up was our only option other than satellite. Even dial up was a despicable 26.6 at its best.  Thank goodness we now have wireless options, still not the best but getting better.

Very good tip.  Thanks for the series.

That was the best tip I've come across in this group. Predetermined date and time emails!!! Thanks for sharing. Just set it and forget... Love the idea.

Imagine, you're ona ten day cruise of Hawaii, and each day you are gone your favorite people receive an e-mail outlining where you are that day and what you are doing.  Very cool!

AWESOME TIP!  I can really see me using this feature in internet leads!  I have been using TP and am switching to Outlook....TP has campaigns that spoil you.  One click and it sends emails on an 8x8.  I am demo-ing Sonoma Enterprises Active Agent and so far it is awesome!  Now I have a way to set up the emails beforehand and the system will send them at thier desired times!

 THANKS!
