Renovations Continue

Yes, the renovations continue. Now that the interior is ready for the painter to come (with the exception of the master suite, which won't be painted until the structural engineer is finished) it is time to work on the exterior of the home.

Unfortunately, this beautiful gardenia bush has to come out. We are going to attempt to save it and move it to another location but I don't think it is going to make the transition. It is too large already and is more like a tree than a bush. But it has to be moved because this wall is going to disappear and an 8 foot sliding glass door is going to be installed here once the repair work is complete.

The windows are also going to disappear. Once this wall is repaired and altered and the new roof is added this place is going to look like a million dollars!

Stay tuned for continued updates!!!

Barbara-Jo -  Oh my goodness, I could never remove that gorgeous Gardenia.  I know your plans will improve your home but what a beautiful plant.  I can smell it all the way up here in Canada :0)   We just don't get those in our gardens and rarely even as house plants.  I'm so jealous!    I hope it likes its new spot!!

Susan - this is NOT my house, it belongs to a client and I am merely supervising the renovations since they live in Europe. They took possession a few months ago and are renovating it before selling it.

At least you're not having to kill YOUR Gardenia :)   Sounds like a fun project though.

Susan - it is; the house was a disaster when they took possession, mold, cracked wall in the master bedroom, roof in bad shape, you name it. It is taking shape nicely and will be a jewel when all is completed! The gardenia is a sad story, especially since it is one of MY favorite plants as well, but I don't think we will be able to save it since it is so large. I do have the guy doing the transplanting at least attempting to save it if possible.
