I have used "TO DO LISTS" in the past and found that the time I spent planning in writing the list and then priortizing it, really ended up saving me time.  Then I got too bust and/or too lazy to keep doing them the night before or the morning of and my production went down.  Without a priortized list people tend to spend time on low priority non-producing tasks.

I have started making my to do lists again and hope to see a rise in my productivity as well as more clarity in my day.  Hopefully I will be able to help more Delaware First Time Home Buyers with obtaining a Delaware Mortgage by keeping myself on task.  I also enjoy the satisfaction of crossing off tasks.  It also lets me know when I am done for the day and can go home feeling like I didn't miss something that was really important.

Please share how you feel about the daily to do list or daily planning.

10 Comments on Real Estate Professionals - The importance of the Daily To Do List

Hi John, I think we need them to keep ourselves on track and organized.  I think time-blocking also goes hand in hand with to do lists.  If we schedule time to do certain things, we should increase our business, stay focused and have less stress.

Hi Tania,  thanks for the comment,  I couldn't agree with you more, I need to work on my time blocking and I am trying to make that a goal for September

I agree that keeping a to-do list is important...I do that in my contact management program...but I also find that in this 'crazy' business it's not always easy to stick to a regimented plan for each day.  So we need to be flexible.

The to-do list is one of the first things I do each day. It helps to reduce stress.

You are right!  I have heard that it is good to make your to do list before you go to bed so that during the night your brain can wrap around it and figure out how to get it all done.  Sounds silly, but maybe it is accurate :)

Mary, thank you for your commemnet, what contact management program do you use to help you manage your database and to do your "to do list"?

Leon,  Do you just write your list out every morning on paper or do you use a day planner or something else?

Dawn,  Do you do it the night before you go to bed?   I am trying to do it the night before I go to bed so that I am night thinking of what things I need to get done the next, it is kinda of a brain dump and then my mind is free to rest so that I can go to sleep.
