The waterfront community of Gulf Harbors in New Port Richey, Florida has condos and  homes priced from $69,900 (condo) to $1,400,000 (directly on the Gulf). Most of the homes are located on canals leading to the Gulf of Mexico. One area has homes located on the Gulf. Gulf Harbors has it's own private beach available for the residents. Building began in the 1970's and continues into today. The 1970's homes were smaller; usually about 1,000- 1,300 sq. ft. and most had either a carport or a single-car garage.  These homes have been added onto and remodeled many times over since then. Garages have been built where the carports were. The homes were originally bought by "snowbirds", many didn't have central air conditioning because the owners weren't here in the summer. 

Homes built in the 80's and 90's have a different look and most were built with garages. Most had central air, ceilings were higher, many had pools,

The late 90's and this decade have seen great changes in the look of homes. More custom-builds and not so much of the cookie-cutter style as in the 80's. Lots of unique and spacious homes. 

 The private beach at Gulf Harbors, New Port Richey, Florida is for residents only and it is an optional club.
