What Could Be More Rewarding Than Volunteering?

For a cause that truly needs it and wants your help that is.  I have tried my hand at volunteering for different causes and found that some of the organizations don't necessarily want or need your help.  But somehow I got suckered into becoming a volunteer kid's soccer coach and have found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

It was painful to see how little anyone cared about helping the kids out.  They just want to play and learn.  Some just want a coach to show up for the games.  But if you have even just a little time and want to do the right thing, or maybe want to just break up the whole real estate ring of boredom, volunteering for kid's sports is a great way to go.  They don't judge you.  They are just happy to have someone there that cares and puts some time in.  I actually look forward to working with them and going to the games now.  I'm not going to lie either.  You have to put up with a lot of stuff from the parents and put the time in almost like a part-time job, but in the end the reward is greater on your end than theirs.  It will make you a better person.

My team is the 10 and under boys of Cooper City, otherwise known as Team Brazil.  Cooper City, Florida is a small town in the middle of a couple of big ones like Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, but housing values there have held their own due mostly to a tight knit community, wonderful schools, and good old fashioned family values.  Besides, the city was named after another Morris, Morris Cooper that is.Team Brazil

Good for you! Volunteering is sometimes a thankless job....but who cares.....you get so much more then you give!!  :)  I use to volunteer as a scorekeeper for my 2 daughters softball games.  Man, sometimes I would be put in awkard situations between coaches and ref's but it was so worth it!  Enjoy these moments Coach!
