With the Christmas season upon us I think it is always fun to attend several events that add to the holiday.

A Christmas Carol is coming to Theatre Charlotte.  In looking up the history of Theatre Charlotte, I found..

"Theatre Charlotte, formerly known as The Little Theatre, is Charlotte's community theatre and has been "creating drama since 1927." Theatre Charlotte's mission is to create outstanding theatre opportunities relevant to the people of the Charlotte region. To fulfill this goal, theatre Charlotte presents a Main Stage series and a "second stage" series known as Stage 501.

Auditions for Theatre Charlotte productions are open to anyone in the Charlotte region. As the oldest continuously producing community theatre in North Carolina, Theatre Charlotte is proud of its heritage and its long-time tradition of production excellence."

A Christmas Carol will be playing from December 10 - 19, 2010.  Here is the show description...

"Adapted by John Jakes from the novel by Charles Dickens "

"This version captures the magic and mystique of the Dickens' original. At the opening, Charles Dickens is introduced to the audience, ready to present a reading of his popular "A Christmas Carol." As he begins, the story unfolds on stage around him: the classic tale of the hard-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas and is visited by the ghost of his late partner, Jacob Marley. Marley urges scrooge to change his ways. This visit is followed by the appearances of three other ghosts-the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. These spirits gradually warm old Scrooge's heart, as well as ours."

 Recommended for the entire family.
