Two local Haiku youths have succeeded at winning two divisions each at the Vans/Hi-Tech/Lopez Surfbash this past weekend at Ho'okipa Beach Park. Chaz Kinoshita and Joao Marco Maffini are among the proud winners of this 21st annual event which is part of the Hawaii Surfing Association Maui Series. Both boys are coached by father Matt Kinoshita who started Kazuma Surfboards in 1990, and is also a full time firefighter based in Paia.
