Friday, December 3, 2010 - Hollydaze Float-in Movie at the Covington Aquatic Center

This community event from 7 - 9 PM will offer opportunities for families to spend time together in the pool or for parents to drop off the kids for fun activities while they enjoy holiday shopping or a dinner out.  Various holiday movies will be projected and  structured games and activities will keep the kids occupied.  Donations for area food banks and Toys for Joy will be accepted.  Admission prices are $3.25 for residents and $4.25 for non-residents.  The same rule and age restrictions as public swims will be in effect.  Anyone under 6 years of age must be accompanied in the water and supervised at all times by an adult.  This event is provided by the City of Covington Parks and Recreation Department.

 

Saturday, December 4, 2010 - Santa Breakfast with FREE photos with Santa

Join the Kiwanis Club of Covington at the Hollydaze Santa Breakfast - St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  This year breakfast time is 9 - 11 AM, come when you can.  Breakfast will be served by volunteers and members of the East Hill Grange.  It will include eggs, pancakes, ham, OJ, milk and coffee.  The Santa Breakfast is at no charge.  However, donations (cash or non-perishable food items) are strongly encouraged to benefit local area food banks.

 

Saturday, December 4, 2010 - Fruitcake Hurl

The third annual Fruitcake Hurl will be bigger and better!  Make your way to the east side of the Home Depot Building and try out your fruitcake hurling skills using the Hollydaze Slingshot prepared in part by the Home Depot.  Prizes will be awarded in both kids and adults categories for the furthest hurls.  Winners will receive gifts from Red Robin.  And, they will be handing out their famous Bird Bucks to use at their restaurant.  Launches are 3 for $5.  100% of the proceeds will go to the local area food banks.  You better get practicing!  The event will be from noon - 3PM in the Home Depot Lot.  As with all Hollydaze events, please consider bringing non-perishable food items to donate.

 

Saturday, December 4, 2010 - Holiday Craft Bazaar

Stop by Covington MultiCare Clinic for great gift options for family and friends, or yourself!  :)    There will be over 30 vendors throughout the first floor of the building.  Bazaar will be held from 9AM to 4 PM.

 

Saturday, December 4, 2010 - Community Tree Lighting Event

On Saturday, December 4th at 5PM, the City of Covington will turn on the lights at the Community Tree Lighting Event arranged by the Kiwanis Club of Covington.  The Chamber of Commerce will be handing out bags with local business coupons as supplies last.  And, of course, there will be hot coffee and cocoa to keep you warm.  The community tree is located at the round-a-bout between Safeway and Fred Meyers.

 

 

Sunday, December 5, 2010 - Holiday Concert
