My husband and I have owned a timeshare through Shell Vacations Club for over 12 years. At times, I have wanted to get rid of our points and just go to nice hotels and pay as we go. We are now on a vacation to the Big Island Hawaii. We attended an update seminar with Shell Vacations Club. Of course, it was a presentation to try to get people to buy more points which we would not do. My husband has a disability and being a realtor, I cannot travel much either.
The presentation was interesting and helpful to us to realize all the good memories we have had over the years from our Shell Vacations Club timeshare vacations. We originally bought the timeshare to have a place to go with minimal hassle by the night in San Francisco and had the Donatello near Union Square. Over the years we have taken my parent to Kaui and Maui for their 50th wedding anniversary. My son went to Kaui to the Princeville property. We went to the Waikiki Ikikai. We also visited my parents in Arizona and stayed at the Legacy Resort. We have had 2 vacations to Vino Bello in Napa Wine Country and plan to go again next year. I took my agents to Anaheim to the Peacock Suites for a Tom Ferry Seminar. We had a few nice vacations at the Del Mar Horse races at the Winner's Circle. I gave a week in Hawaii to a former manager. This week on the Big Isalnd at Paniolo Greens and Holua Resort has been fun and relaxing and the properties are very nice.
It is fun to go on vacation and have the extra space of a large living area, kitchen, and at least 2 baths. There is usually no fee for parking. The amenities of pools and tennis and fitness are nice. As we have transitioned through life, we still enjoy and use of timeshare and build many good memories as we go.
