Yes, that's a fantastic and wonderful gift.... and a treasure that I'm sure each grandchild can one day in the far away future hang on their tree and tell their own grandchildren about when they used to be all together on one tree.
I love meaningful Christmas ornaments and think I'll have to write a blog about putting my tree together this year.

I love pulling them out each year and hanging them on the tree..I read each name as I hang it on our tree and know where they are placed! I always show them when they come over..they want to see where they are placed!

I agree..somewhere down the road I hope they will remember when all the ornaments hang together on our tree and pass it on to their grandchildren. I'll look for your tree this year!
Hi Dorie, I love this idea and it will be a treasure for all the years as the grandchilden grow up. It may encourage them to start their own family collection of remembrances that also can last a lifetime. Here is another idea I will share. I have a large 9 x 11x 4 " gold paper maché box and in it are special remembrances ( significant cards and notes for each year). One of my good friends passed away about 8 years ago on Christmas Day. The first card that inspired this box as a decoration for my tree was a special Christmas card in which she had sent a very special note on. I have 2 heart shaped ornaments with a portrait painted on them of my little Yorkies that I lost over the last two years. I have shared this idea and others seem to like it.
