Hello, Jou-Jou is now 11 weeks old, and almost ready to begin her career in real estate.  She is definitely great in marketing and sales, or at least in marketing.  She people with ease.  She's a complete people-magnet.  And she's a natural for showing property.  She will cover every square inch of a home she shows, and comment with concern if there's anything she doesn't understand.  While she comes up a little short on getting that contract signed, she's really long on emphasizing the finer qualities of a home.  She's quick to note any lingering perfume left by previous residents, which shows the homeowner where a little attention to cleaning detail my be necessary.

When children are present for a showing, Jou-Jou is an absolute hit, and the kids want to move in right away.  How much influence do kids wield in their parents home-buying decisions?  We that's another question entirely, but they do seem to carry some weight in the decision-making process.

Now, there is a downside to this, but hopefully, it can all be worked out.  Mostly, it has to do with curtains….  Jou-Jou has a passion for curtains and climbs to the top of every curtain that crosses her path!  Short of removing her claws, I’m not quite sure how to overcome this problem.

I’ve heard of some type of plastic cap that can be glued to each claw to reduce the effectiveness of the claw.  Has anyone else heard of this?

Buy baby socks and put them her the feet or take down the curtains.  LOL

How about wax on the nails?

Those claw covers don't work-they're like Lee press-on nails, 7 of them will stick forever and 3 will fall off immediately (and your cat will be ticked at you for them anyway!). =)

I hate to remove their claws... that leaves them defenseless, and vulnerable.

Robert, I can envision this poor kitten trying to climb up the curtains with plastic cups on her paws.  When I was growing up my Dad trimmed our cats claws; our cat ran out to climb a tree and slid right down it as he had no claws to hold on.

We may have to do that, although that may not help the curtains....!

I know a lady that has about 2-3 hundred cats, she takes in strays. One time while visiting I noticed that the cats didn't climb all over everything. I asked her why? and was told she has a squirt bottle with water and if the cat attempts to break the rules she goes after them with the squirt bottle.

The squirt bottle is a great idea.  I've used it for both dogs and cats to get them to stop doing a bad behavior.  Also, you may want to start clipping your kitty's nails on a regular basis.  Then, get a very nice scratching post and a bottle of catnip (yes they have it and it's a spray bottle).  Spray the post, place the kitty by the post and show her what to do.  My cat is 11 years old and has never been de-clawed (I clip them) and he has never hurt furniture or curtains.  He has gone through quite a few scratching posts though.  Good Luck!
